Secrets Of The Edit is a half-day seminar/master-class designed to help those new to running edits – APs, potential PDs and Edit Producers – develop the key skills needed to make a great film in the cutting room. The course will use recent and current programming as examples, and will be relevant to anyone making factual programmes, whether they are documentaries, features or formats. The course will deconstruct the process of the edit and include dealing with Executive Producers and Commissioners!
You’ll learn about the key factors involved in running an edit, from story-telling and writing skills to building relationships with editors and Executives who come in for viewings. The seminar will use case studies from recent programming and discuss personal experiences to help strengthen your ability to make a brilliant film. The course has been developed with advice from editor Reva Childs.

Assistant Producers, and anyone aiming to become Producer/Directors or Edit Producers.
