A one-day seminar covering the basics of employment law for tv production. Employment Law: Introduction is a highly practical guide to current employment law and covers freelancers, contractors and employees. Employment Law: Introduction explains the rules on discrimination including disability and age, and also covers disciplinaries and dismissals and how to manage absences.

  • Employment status: freelancers, contractors, fixed term employees.
  • Holiday pay, including rolling up and bank holidays for part timers.
  • Family friendly rights: maternity, paternity etc.
  • Discrimination, including disability and age.
  • Absence management, how to deal with employees who take regular “sickies” and managing long-term absence.
  • Disciplinaries and dismissals: complying with procedures and reducing the risks.
