The Indie Training Fund and The Edinburgh International Television Festival Talent Schemes have launched a new partnership to further support Ones to Watch participants.
Every year, 30 Ones to Watch places are awarded to the rising stars of the TV Industry, giving them access to the TV Festival’s world class content and unrivaled networking opportunities, as well as continued support and mentoring for 12 months after the TV Festival. Now that continuing support will extend into a second year of development via a training allowance co-funded by ITF and EITF.
ITF will provide a training legacy across the full range of our short courses in Production, Digital Media, Technical Skills, People Skills, Diversity, Legal and Business and Drama and Comedy. Starting with 2015’s cohort of Ones to Watch – each participant will be eligible to benefit from one of our training courses at no cost to them.
Carrie Britton; ITF Managing Director said: “ITF is thrilled to support the excellent Ones to Watch scheme with key training to help new and diverse talent in TV and digital to develop and forge successful careers in the industry. We’re delighted to be able to add this to our other new entrant’s initiatives such as the PACT Indie Diversity Scheme and the Production coordinator Training scheme.”
Talent Schemes Director, Campbell Glennie, said “Strategic training is often cited as a barrier to progression, so I’m delighted that this initiative directly responds to that. Our Ones to Watch come from every aspect of the industry, so their individual training needs are varied. I can think of no better partner than ITF to deliver the quality and breadth of skills required for today’s emerging talent.”
